Hey all wats up? I just wanted to know if anybody knows a place to buy Hypersonic 2 at. I can't find it anywhere so had to do the dodgy with it.

Love the program, it is unreal but I am moving to 64 bit windows soon and don't think that "demo" version I have will work.

Anyway, let me know If you think you know where I can get it.. For 64 Bit of course. Any of you guys use 64 bit? How do you find it?

Oh no! Haha looks like I am out of luck, Hypersonic is the best! Hmmm, what to replace it with :(

Hypersonic 2 is not that great any way or they would of updated it

Individually the sounds are not the best but I haven't found anything that comes close to it with the ability to cover so many areas. What would you replace it with? I have plenty of reason refills, Goliath, Trilogy and am thinking of grabbing sonik synth 2.

^^^Only thing close IMO is Reason. But it's not a vsti.

Reason Steinberg didn't update it was because the company that did most of the sounds got bought by Digidesign (they did "Xpand", which is similar but solely Pro-Tools compatible). Steinberg did HalionOne (basically a ROM player w/ some Motif sounds) instead.

Make sure your interface has vista 64 bit drivers. Then make sure you have the latest version of syncroft license control. They have one for vista 32 and 64 bit. Install the content for hyp sonic 2 but do not install the syncroft license control that came with the installation disk. It works on vista 64 bit using live 7 and 8 beta. Make sure you are using a 32 bit ver. of whatever daw you use.

Steinberg still owns the right to the hypersonic name. I was told in the future they will just need new developers. Since wizoo was bought by avid.

Would be awesome if I could buy a license still.

electric guitars in HS are one of the worst

ROFL unless you are going for that really bad synth guitar sound. I've never tried to use VST for guitar sounds, have you had any success?

As far as that "sound" goes, the closest thing to Hypersonic 2 is Xpand2, but you gotta own PT 8 to use it. As far as VSTs go, for easy layering like in Hypersonic you might wanna look into Purity or Ultimate Sound Bank.

Pettinhouse sample libraries wih kontakt and then ran through a good amp sim can give you some hot lead guitar stuff but its easier to hire a kid with decent guitar gear lol.

On topic: I do have a Hypersonic 2 license on a usb stick with no other licenses on it, but Im not sure how it would work if I sold it. I think its just a case of installing the program and the latest syncrosoft software and plugging in the usb key.

As long as you have a legit key you should be fine. It is coming across a legit key that seems to be the hard part. I gave up looking for it a while ago now.

I'll throw a salute. RIP Hypersonic 2 for most of us :) Some of you other guys still have it :D

Hypersonic 2 is great for me. Nothing but heat since I got it.
