hey guys.

Can't post links yet!

So Knxwledge is one of my fav producers out there right now, he got that gritty sound!

He took Anthony Hamiltons 'Since I seen't You' and a made remix of it. It's called 'Seent Yew'.

So how do you more advanced producers think he got this gritty sound, filters, effects etc.?

Much appreciated!

That sounds like some selective EQ towards the mid-range, and some kind of bitcrusher/distortion effect. The rest just seems to be chops from the song and a nice drum track.

@ Chubby C,

sorry man, I can't post links yet, since I havent posted 20 posts yet. But check it out, it's really dope!

@ Backspaces,

Can you elaborate on the EQ'ing? What do you think he did, cut or boost and in what ranges exact? Thanks man, I'm trying to get that sluggish feel to my samples, love that sound!

Experiment with some filtering and add some effects. That might be a lot easier for you to hear if the sample is going in the direction you are looking for.

Yeah, some mid-range EQ filtering. Maybe some delaying/grain-stretching. Saturation, Distortion. Lots of ways to achieve a grittier sound.

i also love Knxwledge!i think maybe he used the ableton ;)
