mtv....

....music generator....uh i dont own a ps2, but i can probably help you....first choice (most obvious) is to use the analog composite cables....attach them to your ps2 and connect the left (white/mono) and the right (red/stereo) to your pc....if your pc doent have seperate composite inputs then you can buy a y-converter from radio shack that will connect the white and red cables together and output as a standard headphone jack .....example ascii art....:
left jack in----> (O)____\ \___,
right jack in--> (O)____/ /`````` <---headphone jack out

....so then you would plug the headphone jack into your pc's sound card to the Line Input jack....if for some readon it doesnt have this then it should have a mic jack....plug it in there....

the other alternative is (if your pc has a digital input jack) is to use the ps2's digital output and then you can use a single digital cord to feed to your pc, but ofr most people the only reason they would have a sound card with a digital input would be because their pc is dvd ready or enabled and can process dolby digital 5.1 surround....this would give you the best sound (pure digital) but its high cost and you probably dont have a digital in anyways....just go with the composite....
now....your sound card should have programs that allow you to record sound from its input jacks (whatever they are)....set your pc up to receive data from those jacks then you need to have the pc program record then play your song off you pc, then stop your song and then stop the recording....then you will need a program that lets you edit the sound file you saved it in (if you used windows generic one its gonna be saved as a .wav)....i can suggest a program called Cool Edit 2000....if you still need help then ask away....i tried to be specific, but i may just ended up being confusing-peace

try going to http://www.codemasters.com/shop
they should have a sampler kit or something. it hooks up to the USB port on the PS2 to retrieve external samples. maybe theres a way to export data from the PS2 to a CD-R(W) device or to computer using the it.
