How much to pay for a brand new MPC 3000 LE?

I would not say that.

But..the 3000s swings feels a little looser. The timing of the XL feel a bit tighter. But I wouldn't say one is better than the other. But that is just my opinion.

But the overall sequencer of the 2000Xl is improved over the 3000. On the XL, I can playback a sequence, and jump to different tracks and scroll through different programs. Once you play a sequence in the 3000, you can't do the same thing. You have to stop the sequencer to do the same thing.

yep..i think the 4000 should be just about right for me then..
 
regarding J Dilla and his "swing" using the MPC 3000, it has nothing to do with the machine itself. That cat isnt quantizing.

Anyone wanting to get any gear should look for local music instrument retailers..you should really make it down there to demo one of these units...demo an MV..or what ever you intend to buy..so you gear don't wind up on eBay because you don't like it. Bottom line..no matter what you get, put your heart into it, master it and stay out the forums talking about gear...you'll be amazed at what you can accomplish..
 
The MPC-3000 is one of the oldest mpc's, made right after the mpc-60. So why not get an Mpc-2000??? shows that it's improved because they stopped selling the 3000 when the 2000 came out. Basically they are the same.

i've demo'd the 4000 before working at guitar center...

i've never had the actually experience of sampling or sequencing synth's thru it though...

i'm not the type of cat that buys gear and sells it cuz he don't have a clue how to use it. i mastered my 2000xl and triton before i had to sell em on so i know a thing or two about production.

the ONLY reason i'm on these forums talking about gear is cuz all my GEAR ain't here yet, when it's in my presence, ya'll will barely see me posting on here anymore.

The MPC 2000 and the 3000 are not the same..but if you work one, you can easily work the other without reading any manuals...

qbsfinest, you are partially correct about your statement. When the MPC 2000 dropped, Akai stopped producing the MPC 3000. But about 2 years later when they dropped the 2000XL, they also started shipping the MPC 3000LE, which was the same as the MPC 3000, with a new paint job, special edition gold plate, maxed memory.....
 
yeah the 3000LE looks dope, i saw one in the Boola beatmaking video. Did u know that dude doesn't even have a pc?? he must use the mpc3000 for everything.
 
At one time, I used the MPC 2000 to do everything..no external sound modules..no MIDI controllers..just an MPC, turntable, and CD player. I created more tracks on that combo than Ihave ever did with any other piece of gear since.

I haven't sampled much at all with the 3000 as of late. But I am about to get my grove on and start creating sample based music again. I am so tired of the keyboard beatz these days. Not that the are not hot..but everything sounds the same.

Man,you are exactly correct! You can't master your gear and make tracks if you're browsing forums 2 to 3 hrs a day. Unless you don't have a 9 to 5.

Is that supposed to be some sort of fact? I think not, how the hell is browsing forums supposed to stop me from mastering my gear? You people and the smart ass comments. I'd blow half ya'll away and ain't made a beat on hardware in years. I bet half ya'll ain't nice with production whatsoever acting like you're superior cuz you don't "POST" as much as others. I got a son to tend to every day also, but I guess since I have to watch him all day, my gear will never be "mastered". I could post on here for as many hours as I want and make a banger in 20 minutes, everybody ain't as slow to learn and "master" as others.

You can master ANYTHING if u put your mind to it, i don't care if u only have 1 hour a day to mess with your sh*t.

With the exception of the MPC 4000..they are all pretty much the same. If you can work one, you can work the other. The MPC 60/3000 have dedicated buttons for menus..while the 2000/2000XL has buttons that are multi-functional. But I would say the XL..just wished it had the additional MIDI outputs ;)
