How Monster "screwed itself out of a fortune" by inking a deal with Dr. Dre

I like Swizz and it's a smart move to bring him as a partner but truth is Swizz doesn't have the star power Dre has, the only other producer who has the brand power to successfully sell headphones on that Dre level is Timbaland.

I can see them go after Timbaland and Iovine shutting that down lol.
 
Jimmy Iovine and Dr.Dre have been screwing people over for years. If there is any lesson to learn from this, know the history of the people you are dealing with. People think the world of these over priced headphones. Dr.Dre is the "greatest" for "creating" these headphones. People see Dr.Dre's name on these headphones and they think that he actually came up with the idea of the headphones. All he did was market. The Lees can't go fault trying to play the victim. The son stabbed his father in the back!
 
Me personally I don't buy headphones that don't show or advertise their specs

Definitely a bad move on Monster's part though .... who spends millions of dollars before they even know if the deal is going to go through... it was pretty much downhill from that point on.
 
its interesting to me because producers do the same thing ... create music without the paperwork in place, no guarantee of money, and its just the way its expected to be, and then after the fact you hear x artist/x record label screwed me, just like this
