Yo i just picked up an mpc1000 the other day and i kicked my first beat on it. I read the manual but im still a little confused on how i export my finsished sequence as a song. I know how to use song mode, but do i just save the song and then drag it to my computer? A buddy of mine told me i have to actually record the song, and i read a lttle in the manual about record mode, but i still dont fully understand. What im trying to do is get my beat on a cd.

You will have to go into "Record", then switch to "Main Out" then press play and it will record all its internal sounds. Or get a DAW and record.

when u make ur song in song mode, hit convert. then go to the main and find the squence that says song. thats the song right there in that one sequence. find out how long the song is, and make sure ur on the sequence, and hit MODE and then the Record pad. in the top left it says analog or somethin, turn the wheel till ur see MAIN OUT and then set the time u want to record, however long the song is. then hit record its like F4 or F5 and then it will say waiting or somethin and then hit the white PlayStart button on the front of the mpc, u should kno what that is already. then it will record and when its done it will ask to u name it, it should be already named Sample 1. then it will ask u to assign the song to a pad...just to be sure assign it like C5 or something where there is no sounds. then go to MODE SAVE and i belive its save a sampple and then find Sample 1 or whatever u named it and click do it. hope this helps

Hey make sure you go snatch up JJOS while you're at it.

thanx a lot ya'll, one more question, what is JJOS?

the JJOS is like an alternative operating system for the mpc1k instead of the stock. google the website to get it, but it gives u more options for editing and cool features that the other os doesnt. it's like 30$ but u wont be dissapointed

Well the free version of JJOS is perfectly fine too. Only if he likes the free one should he upgrade to the paid one IMO.
