how can i get this guitar sound?

you know the track "Frontin" by Pharrell rite?..
the guitar sound.....did pharrell use live instrument guitar or did he use vst-i or keyboard sound?..

how can i get this sound? i want it so bad for my rnb beat..
any vst-i that have this sound or the something similar..

Mo, I used to spin that cut at the clubs. It's a cool jam. Back to the sound...

To me it sounds like guitar chords or a mix between a guitar and clavinet. spin those sounds and work from there.

My ear believes it's a key played sound. The sound is good, but I do not hear much clarity between the simulated strummed notes. Plus the sound is too mechanical. It does not breath like a real guitar. This is my opinion and I'm sure there are Pros on here who can break it down to you even more.

I will say this. When I was Djing , back in the day, I saw a band perform this cut and that sound you were referring to was done by the keyboardist and he used a clavinet voice. It was close but not exactly the sound.

That sound is from a keyboard. On my Roland XP-60 there's a guitar sound that sounds almost identical to it. But if it's not from my Roland, Im almost sure it came from one of the keyboards they have or had.

I agree! It sounds like a stock sound as well.
 
It's either from the Korg 01/W or the MicroKorg, can't remember which tho' at the moment.

Used to love this track lol.

I dnt think theres much you wouldnt be able to find if you had a motif, triton or fantom but there a little expensive for me... I agree that ul probly find something similar on there.
