How Can I get this bounce to my drums?!?!

This type ofdrum style is something I've been trying to achieve but never got it. Is there something I'm missing? Is it in the mix? Do people just play the style like tis when they make the drums? Here are some examples:

I don't think the drums are doing anything special on their own - there's a heavy swing to them, but a lot of the groove comes from the sidechained compression and how other elements, such as the Rhodes-y piano, plays together with the rhythm of the drums.
