Thanks for the welcome!

Hey SSTM, the project was actually a remix of the song "Hold On" which was originally produced by Steve "silk "Hurley. All three of us made it on the 12 inch vinyl remix, me, Mousse T and Blaze. I doubt you can still order it but you may find some copies around town. It came out in 1997. When you hear my mix you'll know what i was talkin about.:D Oh well, like i said, i was just glad to have had the opportunity. I did have the chance to do another remix of "The Rain" off the same album but it was never released.
I got to meet Steve at a show while he was in town and all we talked about was GEAR!! He was a cool ass dude.
I'm a hip hop guy but i do have a soft spot for some good Chicago house music!!

Italy, I got to tell you (just between me, you, and the whole wide world) I patterned my remixing skills from Steve "Silk" Hurley. Steve is and has been an incredible remix artist since the eighties. By the way, when I was on the same bill with him, he was so excited because he said that he had just finished programming his latest song. That song turned out to be "Jack Your Body" which went on to become a big hit for Steve here in Chi as well as in Europe and the UK. Many of Chi-Town's premier House Music makers then took the journey overseas to promote their stuff. :)

Hey SSTM, not a bad guy to pattern your skills after, huh!
I haven't been following the house music scene, is Steve still pretty active??
Another guy out there by the name of Cajmere is pretty nice too. I loved that Brighter Days track as well as Percolater back in the day...... I like the more RAW house stuff, simple/funky, rather than the over produced stuff..., and i love chopped up and freaked vocals! That's why i dug the Brighter Days underground goodie mix so much.....
What have you been workin on musically lately?? Are you remixing anything at the moment?? I tell ya, there is some descent money in it but you miss out on the royalties.... It's a great way to get your name out tho! Plus it's fun as hell. I'll be honest man, i haven't been doin much remixing at all the last few years...., hell the last one i did was Erykah Badu's "On and On.. I jacked the accapella from the cd single and sent it to her label for the hell of it. I was surprised to get a letter back from Kedar Massenburg saying they appreciated the effort but they were already moving on to the next single.
Lately iv'e been working with a friend doing some original music for small video and cable/commercial stuff. I actually like doin this kind of work better because i can do it all in my studio at home as well as my partner's. On some occasions you can work in some publishing stuff but mainly it's a flat fee type deal, kinda like remixing... I love it tho! I'm hoping to land some good accounts and try to do this thing FULL TIME!
Good luck out there in Chi-Town man!!

Italy, I'm not doing any remix work. The last time I did, it was remixes of House Music just for a mix CD and that was some years back. I'm currently working with and producing a local rap group and working with a few signed artist's out of Chi. I'm pretty much honing my production skills with these guys. I haven't seen Steve in a number of years, although I do hear from friends who tell me he's still doing well. I know that he was doing remixes for the Tom Joyner Show aka: The Fly Jock a while back. I guess what made Steve really special to me is the fact that he would do some of the most incredible and imaginative remixes live. Not to mention his prerecorded mixes and remixes he did for the radio stations.

What I did learn from him is when you mix or remix always be creative and imaginative and your mixes will make sense. :)

Much props to Steve "Silk" Hurley who hails from Chi who in my opinion is one of the greatest remix artist in the world. :)
