Macklemore’s DIY success story shows us the power of fan based communities; he essentially harvested a large, dynamic fanbase without label support, and you can learn from his story to build your own.

This two-week course focuses on three key elements of building a large fan based community:

1) knowing your audience;

2) creatively packaging your content;

3) focusing on the media that matters.

By the end of this class you will have a clear audience profile for your future fanbase and basic content that will speak to them.

It's crazy .. I just started getting into this dude too. Once you get past his funny, gimmick-y stuff you'll notice the dude can flow.

Good to see some independent Hip-Hop doing well. Was really happy when the Thrift Shoft track garnered so much buzz.

Here's what I noticed about Macklemore being that I live in WA...

- turn on the local radio station
- see what people are passionate about
- make a song about it

= Fame, Buzz, Attention

No hate on dude but I don't like rappers that sound like they're breathing their last breath when they rap. Much success to dude.
