I have been trying to figure this out for the longest and I still have no luck. I'm not looking for a simple sub bass, im looking to make a bass that has that WARMTH, thickness and character to it that gives u that >.< face. I'll post examples. PLEASE HELP.

Freddie joachim is a good example, same with j dilla and 9th wonder
somehow i know it is alot easier to get this sound that im making it out to be. Someone please point me in the right direction tho.

try using pulse wave; its like a gritty sine wave
 
a lot of sample based producers use real bassists, or sample the bass of the song they are sampling
 
I use the sub basses in kontakt and my sub bass comes out pretty good. I also filter them using low pass and resonance in kontakt and save the patches as my own. Here is an example from a remix I did of a 09's RnB song from a group called portrait....
