Just random thoughts....

Similarities...

Why is it that in hip hop, it's not usually the rap artist himself who gets in fights..it's usually members of his groupie ass entourage.

Why is in sports, it's not USUALLY the players who get into brawls...it's usually their groupie ass fans? This is excluding Ron Artest of course.

Why is it that in hip hop, the fans respect your game more than the music itself.

Why it it that in sports the fans respect your game more than the game itself?

Differences...

Why is it that in hip hop, artists aren't usually successful because they are nice on the mic. Basically you have to dumb down to make money.

But why is it that you're only successful in basketball if you're nice on the court? Basically you have to bring your A-game to make money/earn endorsements.

Why is it that in hip hop you're awarded for having a hardcore image...especially if it also appeals to whites.

Why is it that in BASKETBALL mostly...you're penalized and shunned if you have a hardcore image...even if you do dress up and "act hip hop".

I was under the impression that both hip hop and sports gaming were forms of professionalized entertainment  Enlighten me on why these situations exists...no really...please?

Another difference...

Why is it that in sports only the DIE HARD fans will continue to support your loser ass if you're not bringing your A-Game on the field/court....

But why is it that in hip hop...your music could be garbage as fukk but the artist's entire city or state will continue to support him because.....

Yeah why the fukk do you do that anyway?

You know what...that is a GOOD question...I guess you kind of look at hometown "heroes" as kind of like an extended family, you know, flesh of my flesh, blood of my blood. Well at least thats how I see it.

Interesting analogies, boy I LOVE this thread already. We bout to get this shlt crackin right NOW. Football season is on the verge bltches, Houston Texans sleeper team of the yr. Texas Longhorns WILL make another BCS bowl, Vince Young... HEISMAN!!!! Oh and bball is right around the corner too, Spurs, I'ma see ya'll in the Western Co Finals... then we gon proceed to whoop that ass. Mac, Dynasty and Swift the NEXT GEN! Who phuckin with us??? Oh and phuck a bandwagon jumper, and any team thats not mentioned above. Ahem...

The main reason people with a hip hop image get the rag treatment in the NBA... well, just take a good look at the commissioner. David Stern is a dick who just can't get out of the ice age. Young black males from 'round the way are takin over the league, he knows it, so he is gonna go to extremes for any one of their little slipups too you know, make an example. I can't wait til he retires, hell I can't wait til they ALL retire. I hate all league commissioners, David Herb, Paul Tagliabltch, and Suck(off) Selig who can't get his mouth off Steinbrenner's wang. Also take notice to the new age limit Stern implaced, gotta be 19 now, which sucks for all the young talent. I mean they are technically adults at 18, they should be able to work whereever they can get a job. Including pro bball organizations that want them, but whatever. No more beans on my plate either way.

you can build a rapper. Get a random dude with an appealing face and a dope beat and there you go.
You can't take any scrub off the street and make him a star athelete. You can't fake being good at sports vs. music.

Why is it that when Ron Artest was actin a fool everybody was laughing. But when lil john makes a video its nigger music and bringing the image of a black man down a notch?

I agree with blade about stern. he rules with an iron thumb

Similarities...

In Hip Hop and Sports, blacks serve as Entertainment and income for whites.

Who do you guys think does better financially?
Not talkin about the KObe's and 50cent's but the regular rank and file or averagely successful rapper.

???

Okur has a $50+ million dollar contract, nuff said.

Whoa.
I love to watch ball but have never been up on any of the behind the scenes stuff.
I guess this reveals who is better off!

the avergae athelete diffently makes more than the average muscian/rapper or whoever. Music has always been the lowest paying between itself, sports, and movies.

Another similarity...

A large percentage of young black males wants to be either a rapper or some sort of "ball" player.

Difference....

*WARNING* EXTREME SARCASM AHEAD!!!

Why is it that in hip hop, everyone knows that rappers slay white women yet they're never seen with any.

Why is it that in sports, everyone knows that pro-ballers smash black women yet they're never seen with any? :)

Warned ya.

Similarity....

Why is it that at a sports game, the stadium is mostly packed with whites...especially in the seats closest to the field/court...meaning they must have paid a shytload of money to get those seats especially during the playoffs/finals????

Why is it that at a hip hop show....you'll mostly see whites....especially closest to the stage whether or not it's at an Anger Management show or a little $5 hip hop event?????

Chris Rock says it best. "Shaq is rich. The white guy who signs his check, is wealthy." These ball players and rappers, they're all chess pieces in the rich man's world. They play with them like white nerds play chess and black folks play dominoes. It's a game to them, only they don't sit around a table, they sit in offices in 50 story buildings lookin' out over their world and enjoying the sight and the feeling that they control everything below their vantage point in the pinnacle above the city. Even Micheal Jordan can't compete with Oprah's money. Oprah is rich as hell... but she STILL ain't wealthy. If Bill Gates woke up tomorrow with Oprah's money, he'd jump out a fukkin' window. Yeah, Jordan in his last year in Chi-town made $1,500 PER ATTEMPTED SHOT! But the person who signed those checks didn't even batt an eye, because he was making 10 times that on the kickbacks. He didn't hafta do shyt and he made mad bank. It's the sports personas and the people grindin' it out in the music industry who deserve the money, but they aren't gonna get it til they take over their own game. Which will never happen, because just like pawns in chess, they'll be sacrificed for the next big thing. It's all about the people who have the money who control the games.

Ok, I'm done sharing information totally irrelavent to the thread topic now :D
