HID to MIDI

I was wondering if anyone could recommend me some good software to convert HID to MIDI.
I'm building a controller for ableton using an HID interface.

I've heard good things about ControllerMate (OSX only, though), but can't say I have any first-hand experience with it.

A whole bunch of other ones listed here.
