as far as the contacts go, i dont feel like my music's what they wanna hear right now, so why even waste their time, but even if i thought it was, i definitely wouldnt be callin them up, especially if those are personal numbers cause thats not a good look to be buggin somebody on their personal time.
no i did not write that whole thing but dont be so quick to judge me and say i dont have contact with any of those people lol start readin the production credits in your favorite artist's cd's this year you will see my name in a couple i got that article from another widely know producer "im not mentioning his name affter all the negative comments i got from this lol"in my email this morning basically he just email blasted that and so i figured hey why not post this on FP some people that might not have as much know how as OTHERS may be able to put some use to this.I have kept out of all the arguing this post gnerated and also took the numbers down even though they were not personal cell #'s but i just wish some people can take this post just for what it was "some good tips and a few emails" instead its 15 pages of arguing. Then Guilty has to reply like hes pullin my card or sumpin does it matter if i wrote the article seriously, and he also tries to discredit me and say i dont know any of the names posted i have actually met with two of the names mntioned and have personaly spoke to 2 of them as well and this was before i ever recieved this email today. So all bull**** aside i appreciate all the positive comments and hope some of yall make good use to this!Guilty J said:Real Axis didnt write any of that, he pulled it from some article written by someone else. I bet if you googled a sentence it would come up on like 1000 forums.
Real Axis doesnt actually have any contact with those people, if he did best believe he wouldnt be so quick to post them.

i believe emailing would be a better move than calling.vladb said:i have a question though...I live in Australia, I cant comfortably fly to LA and set up meetings, although I probably will do so in the near future...
Would taking a shot at contacting some emails still be a dumb as sh!t move?

dmensah1 said:IMO a better approach would be to shoot some emails to the artists/major songwriters/mgmt, especially the ones that A&R has history with/oversees and try to make great songs (or even remixes) with them. With myspace this is easy as hell to do, theres also workshops, showcases, and networking events poppin all the time in spots like ATL, NYC, and LA so again, if youre truly wanting this, it's not hard. if these folk wont take you seriously, an A&R certainly wont either. if the songs are hot, more than likely the A&R will catch wind of it, if not, then you have leverage compared to just cold-contacting.
The thing that trips me out is this, most of the folks here arent about their business yet if you are getting gassed over something like this...you come at them thirsty with no track record or serious cosign from someone big youre just asking to get treated like a groupie as far as points/publishing are concerned compared to if you had fell back, built a buzz in your area, and got some sort of representation in the industry that can vouch for you. just my 2 cents based on my experiences.
