Help With Motif XF8 !

Ok, i just bought this Yamaha Motif XF8, and i have NO CLUE how to plug it to the computer in a way that will allow me to use the samples of the Motif Synth, but at the same time, allow me to quantize and switch notes once recorded. I will describe how everything is set up so you guys have a better idea.

I have an HP PC with vista 64 bit

A focusrite [Saffire pro 24 DSP] connected by Firewire to my PC

To the focusrite I have connected:

[Via Audio Input], two (2) 1/4 audio cables. They start from the Motif Out and go into the 2 jacks in the back of the Saffire.

* The problem is that i can record Melodies into [FL studio] using the motif, just as i would record vocals with my condenser mic. This obviously sucks for editing the notes, and i have no clue if i can quantize raw audio input ...

I would like to know how to set up the motif to record NOTES on fl studio using the Motif's sounds ...

Connect the Motif using the usb connection to send MIDI. This will allow you to record midi data which can trigger your Motif. The Motif XF also has a VST Editor plugin that lets you access the hardware settings from your DAW. I will add a link to download the editor and USB drivers.
