Hi. I've never posted on a forum before...hoping this works out. I've just finished mixing/amateur mastering a fourteen song project. It sounds great on my home system, my car system, my iPod ear-buds, etc. BUT....every snare hit causes the built in speakers on both my laptop and my wife's laptop compress so hard that they sound like they are a few decibels quieter for the duration of the snare hit. It is REALLY annoying. This also happens on my brother's car speakers. The snare does not sound gratuitously loud on most speakers, and the overall volume of the recording is no louder than commercial CDs that do not have the same negative effect on my laptop speakers. What is the deal? Can anyone help?
