Hey Whats Up Everyone?
Not much here... got my mind on producing as usual.... and as usual, trying to figure out ways to expand my knowledge of techniques.
Right now I am think of sampling, Kanye style.... I mean I know how to sample but whats the best way to sample a vocal sample from say a 1950's soul track? it has light background music (like most) - meaning the sample isnt acapella....
how does one go about chipmunking it yet getting it perfectly in sync with digital drum loops, and rest of ur production that's set at digitally precise tempos, etc.?
timestretch? pitch shift? i only have access to acid 5, fl5, soundforge8?
whats exactly the diffrence and whats best for keeping on beat so melodies dont clash (from sample being mixed with rest of my loop based production?
know what im trying to ask help in tryng to do?
i cant judge my own request for help, but think i am writing this **** in an understandable manner.... ?
Looking forward to some help from yall experienced personally in sampling for hiphop productions.... and handy with easy techniques to do it kanye style, in terms of the vocal samples...does he time stretch or pitch shift? whats the diff?
Until next time,
