I got my CDJ-800 a few days ago and beat matching + scratching on it is a dream, but no matter how hard I try, the auto beat loop never loops perfectly and I cant mix with it on.
Ive tried it with different tracks and its still the same. Ive even pressing the auto beat loop from the first beat cue point while the track is still paused.

Im not using vinyl mode and the sensitivity is set at the lowest value.

What am I doing wrong?

contrary to what pioneer might say, the cdj-800 auto loop feature is not exact at all. it will slip. always. same for my cdj 1000mk2's i have. the loops on the 1000 can be adjusted by frames afterwards, but individual frames aren't precise enough to properly sync a loop for very long. around 30 seconds max.

are you using a track that has a steady beat? are you spinning house? hip hop?

has the BPM showed up in the display on the right?

just to try the simplest way - put the pitch slider at 0, keep vinyl mode ON (and that switch in the back is set for DJ mode or whatever), and let the track play and let it get the BPM. then press one of the auto loop buttons and see if you get anything. if its a tricky beat, then drunken dj's right, it might not turn out right, but if not, you should get something really close, if not, i'd contact pioneer support or something.

For me, most of the times it's hit. Sometimes there are misses. After you have your loop section looped adjust it. By pressing the In button you can adjust the beginning of the loop. Same with the out, except your adjusting the out. After you've adjusted the In or Out press In or Out depending on which one you adjusted to lock the loop.

To get the loop playing in the mix. Just press the Enter/Exit button to cue the loop at your mixing point. Enter to start the loop, if you mess up on your cueing press exit, then when its time to cue again press Enter at your next cue point.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Im gonna try your suggestions out tonight.
Im spinning house by the way ;)
