I agree with you on nukleuz being mostly UK hard house. Somewhat more hi-nrg beats with quick stabbing vocals in them. Different from what I consider darker creepier NYC hard house with the typical hoovers thrown in occasionally.

Hard House vs Trance

I mix Hard NRG, a variant of hard house, and once you know your tunes it is one of the easiest to mix.........
The only problem I find is that when you are playing the Karim style of Hard NRG, the beats are really compressed so that you have to be extremely accurate with your mixing otherwise it is very obvious when it goes out.
To start mixing hard house, go buy a big stack of Nukleuz Blue and practice with them. All the tunes are of a very similar style and are therefore easy to mix.
Personally I think that trance sucks, it is too nice......:) Music these days has to be a bit harder.......check out D&B for example..........hard and dark as hell...........

I feel the same way about music being "dark". I like the kind of tracks that a tony draper or a jonathan peters throws on after 4am. That's when the real music starts in my opinion.

Not Dark all the time!

D 'n' B isn't always dark it goes through patches of beeing dark and light, like at the moment its going through a dark stage now!
