Stop blaming the music for YOUUUUUU being a bad parent. Why can't I listen to songs about ass & tits because u have kids.

LMAO...People always blame their problems on hip hop, those lil niccas on the corner sellin D, its hip hops fault. My kid is in the 7th grade but reads on a 1st grade level, lets blame it on hip hop. This dude in the club called me a bytch because im ugly and stuck up, he watches to much hip hop. My child cant do basic math, but he can chant every word of laffy taffy, lets blame it on hip hop. Micheal Vick sponsering illegal dog fighting rings. Yep you got it its hip hops fault.

When are people going to start being responsible for their own lives?

You know. I wear condoms for a reason. Stop blaming hip hop for your kids being stupid and crooks. I had a college reading level in 7th grade and knew every word to Ready to Die. I'm singin me and my girlfriend and gettin a A in science class. Ur just a bad parent.

Your the only one on a bandwagon because most of the people who posted in hear said they like GZA as an artist, they just think he looks like a dumbass on that video. You know like that one uncle who tries to be cool but the harder he tries the dumber he looks.

i had to skip a few pages because of some real lames all juicing their pants at gza dissin' 50.

'is this what's hot in the streets these days?' gettin' all excited like a toddler expecting somethin' to pop off because your fav rapper said somethin'.

smh

Gza isn't even the goat of the group let alone all of hip hop. As artists you are only as good as your audience precieves u. Therefore a relevant artist will always be better than a nigga nobody understands. Also I can name a bunch of rappers past and present who will eat Gza alive it aint just 50. Nas is still totally relevant and sh*ts on Gza. Stop being a fan boy

Honestly, I thought that was a pretty lame diss. I think GZA is crazy, I listen to him over 50 anyday, but people have made some good points in this thread.

Wu-Tang doesn't know how to market themselves anymore. Sh!t, with the singles I've heard so far, it's like they don't give a **** about selling records, period.

And that's fine. But what's weak is that these same dudes who are all relaxed about records are getting at mad at artists who are making money.

I hate Soulja Boy. I think it is downright pathetic that so many people like him, and i question their taste in music, but damn. From a financial stand point, these commercial no talent artists are doing something right.

It's because of their success that makes all these crabby older rappers get miffed, they're mad that the real lyricism and spirit of hip hop is dead, all the mainstream is is sh!t in mp3 form.

Fvck that crybaby mentality. older, talented artists need to do something about it, they need to change aspects of their style in order to fit the times. Rap isn't about Shaolin Kung fu skits anymore, it has changed with time. Common gave it a shot, he put out an album that wasn't too complex but still solid, and he got a number 1 out of it. Kanye provided substantial, quality music, and he did quiet well for himself.

If the real emcees want a change, they need to take off their pampers and do something about it.

Naw, there's some major bandwagons getting jumped on in here. First and foremost, who gives a shyt if GZA dissed somebody? From day 1 hip hop has been about talking shyt. And all yall are just like "oh he's just a hater and he's just bitter." Nah, he's a righteous guy and he probably meant what he said, or he didn't care either way. GZA probly isn't even giving it a second thought right now. I mean goddam! Alot of yall are talking shyt about Wu Tang like they're dead and gone and you're looking back in retrospect like "oh they're wack they only had a few good cds." And you know you're just saying that cause their latest record didn't sell and that along with the fact that j.troup or someone said it. Honestly I never thought I'd see the day where people would be defending Souljah Boy over GZA. Remember that Wu Tang was having hit singles with 7 minute songs OF ONLY VERSES. NO HOOKS. This is the same American public today as back then. Yall are talking about the "relevance" and "age" of an artist like these are things that actually matter. This is all ignorance to me. The quality of someone's art is what should matter. Record sales don't even matter anymore, we already know that the mainstream is fukked up, so don't even pay attention to record sales. Peace. I'm out, 'fore I get a virus on this damn site.

Very well said! Not relevant... hahaha A person can't speak their opinion unless they have a platinum album out right now??? In that case, everybody here needs to shut the f*ck up, cuz nobody in this thread is "relevant".

What exactly would be the battle. Who's fightin for what?

Killed it.. Everyone read this **** and Learn Something

Although I disagree about GZA over 50. I like them both for there own styles... You cant compare apples and oranges. Gza has his style and 50 has his and there both 2 of the best at them

^^^ agreed, Soulja Boy is a joke, but even more of a joke are the people supporting his "music".

the stans come out at night, the stans come out at night, hut, hut, hut, hut.

never been on a bandwagon and i ain't defendin' anybody. i've constantly heard people whose 1st introduction to hip hop was wu tang which in turn declared them the greatest group ever..

i haven't felt an album from them as wu tang since the 1st. their early individual albums were good, some better than others some wicked, but as wu tang clan, naw.

but for me this thread is ridiculous cause some dudes have another mans balls firmly in their mouth actin' like gza came down from the temple mount speakin' words never heard before. either that or they needed someones validation for hating on a kid for a song.

a song. what? is this the first time a song some of you can't stand been made? news to me. all those pieces of crap in the 80's and 90's that sold must have been an illusion.

Artists need to quit b!tchin' and start innovating. It's kind of amazing when you step back and realize that Hip-Hop has barely evolved since its conception.

I realized this once I branched out and started listening to other types of music. I'm not saying that Hip-Hop artists need to pick up guitars or anything, but where is the innovation?

I know sampling laws have something to do with it, but look at how innovative Trent Reznor is (frontman for Nine Inch Nails). For The Downward Spiral he used vintage synthesizers, distorted guitars, and samples of just about everything (car doors slamming, movies, industrial noise, windex spraying, etc.) to create one of the best albums of the 90s.

RZA was innovative in this way. Dilla was innovative. Pete Rock was innovative.

You have to think like a musician to create a great album.

It's one of the most obvious things that seems to get ignored.

So quit b!tching and head back to the lab.

yea the industry is dumb as hell, they want the same thing over and over again. I remember sitting down in a office at Atlantic Records with a A&R and this fool had the nerve to tell me "I like your tracks but do you think you can make something like what's on the radio but just a lil different??" I said "um, I'll try and get back to you..." I never called that bozo again...

Can't put all the blame on the labels most of it is the fans

incredible

"Honestly I never thought I'd see the day where people would be defending Souljah Boy over GZA."

Since when was I on trial? Heres a better one where is your audience? We are talking about Gza so since u realize that I am right u try to turn it against me. Good one. I understand Gza but the average cat don't. He aint talkin bout anything anyone wants to hear besides YOU. And the nigga is the Genius kuz thats what he goes by. I still don't want to hear the nigga. Why u takin shots at me anyway? U mad? Do you feel you need to discredit me as a musician because of your lack of accomplishments? Are you living through Gza? I am just bein real about the situation. To the average rap fan Gza is a nobody. 50 is a house hold name. Soulja Boy is a house hold name. People want to hear Soulja Boy. Who is out there checkin for Gza? No hate I am really askin. I respect him as a Wu original but I don't want to hear the nigga unless hes with the clan.

This is f**kin sad.....Hip Hop as we know it has officially became s**t. I ban my f**kin self. Thank you to all the good folks who have took the culture and turned it into a dickriding, shoe shufflin, laughing stock mockery of music. God bless and good night.

^^^History lesson : That's what it's always been.

Tell me the difference between "I got sum Bavin Apes" and Run DMC's My Adidas. Tell me the difference between "Crank Dat Soulja Boy" and Tootsie Roll by 95 South/69 boyz/whoever. What's the difference between "I need a soulja Girl" and "I need love by L.L.

Just because youuuuuuuuu don't like it doesn't makeit any less hip hop.

For the record, I never liked any of the weak sh*t I just named or the weak azz artists who made it, but who am I to say L.L., Run DMC, 95 South/69 Boyz are/were killing hip hop with their weak sh*t?

IMO Soulja Boy is the exact same thing all of them were, the same thing Kanye is, the same thing all those concious peaceful rappers are. Every club rapper is. That weak sh*t. If I can't play it while I'm shooting up sh*t I'm not feelin it. but that just my opinion. Everyone up here has a different one, but yours isn't any more or less correct than the next man's.

So from this point on, the only real hip hop is Notorious, Cormega, Mobb Deep, Smoothe Da Hustla, Yukmouth, Foxy Brown, Maino, 50 Cent, old school DMX when he robbed nikkas, Rick Ross, Wu, Jeezy, Dipset, Onyx, Big Pun, Fat Joe, Lil' Wayne, Capone N Norega, and things of that nature.

If it ain't about slingin dope, shootin' nikkas, and still being in the hood, it don't deserve no grammy, nikkas who make it should be dissed, and I hate those nikkas like Common and Talib and Nas, always rappin bout sum smart sh*t, and bettering yourself, that ain't what I'm bout!

That's what you guys sound like, why can't I?
