I bought an rm1x a few months ago and I'm very happy about it. But I want to expand my "studio" with a synth that I can connect to my rm1x. I already have decided to go for Virus B or Roland Jp8000, but I don't know which one of them is best in making those nice trance/techno sounds. I can take one example: if you have heard Foggy - come into my dream, that cool sound in it. :P If you have an opinion, please post your reply.

DJ NRGY:cool:

Do not go for the JP-8000 !!

I have both a JP-8080 and a Supernova II, and since I have the SNII, I never use the JP anymore. It's good, but simply not good enough nowadays.

If you should have any doubts about the Virus, try the Supernova II rack. Damn good machine too... (for me even better than the Virus)

:D
Hmm, have you made any songs with your supernova II rack, so I can hear how it sounds? thanks for your reply man. I'm thinking of gettin' the supernove II rack now, maby the Virus B... have to check the prices and stores. I don't think any store in Norway have the Virus b.... =(

You could alway order a Virus on-line... and I saw a couple at ebay.

how much do I have to pay for a virus B where you bought it Mano1?

I'm gettin' the Virus B!!! :D

hmz.. okay you should go for the virus, from those 2 machines the virus is clearly more powerfull .

but erhm.. not using your jp anymore ? strange i use it all the time for my strings.... :D

Well, Christian, I agree you're right in a certain way: except for strings and pads.

But it's a fact the Virus & the Supernova II are SÓ much stronger.

I Agree they are more powerfull than the jp
But i still think it's nice to have one with the rest of my setup ;)

I think I paid 11.000 Francs in france back when I lived there in october 99. About $1500 US.

I really love it! ahh it is so rich and strong! But I dont have much time to do music these days. I will get back to it soon though, and the Virus will remain my most beautiful hardware piece.

Well, Christian, about the JP ;), I agree it's - pure estethically - a beautiful piece to have.
