Getting noticed?

Waddup everybody? I'm new to this forum and so far this seems like a good place to get some more knowledge about music production. I was wondering how can I get more people to listen to my beats, I'm a novice so the more people see my beats, the more tips I can get. How do you market yourself to get a broader audience?

Do something remarkable then spread your music in any and every way you can find while its still new then hope your audience also finds it remarkable enough to remark about it to their friends.

Just complementing Olie's answer: there's at least one forum to each genre we have in music today. A good search can give you some interesting results.
