"Get low" Does anyone even like Dirty South songs!!? (Target audience question)

Hey sup yall, i got a question. Lately ive been researching target audiences for different styles of music and genres of hip-hop. For example, the 13 and younger age group basically belongs to bow wow/B2k/Mario and people of that style of mainly R&B (i cant stand them!!, lol). Roc-a-fella/50-cent/Nelly and artist of that type (to much groups to name), control the older more mature clubbin' age group from15 and up. But my question is, who listens to southern music!? I know theres a large audience of listeners out there who love it (like me, and all those people who like "get low" and trust me thats theres a lot!!), but do they fall into a specific age range? and is there a way to reach them? I produce mainly that southern style of music and am basically just trying to gain knowledge of my target audience (my beats are posted on the site blow my pic.) I would greatly appreciate the concern of anyone who would like to share information on this topic. thanks.

every type of music has its place

Lil Jon is classified as "crunk music" which is self explanatory...music is basically club music that you dance to

in case you don't know, all "dirty south" music don't sound like that

in Houston we have a different sound, in New Orleans they have a different sound, etc

from a business standpoint, lil jon is a genious because that music will always get lots of video and radio airplay as well as being a club staple which means when they get they quarterly publishing checks from ASCAP and them ($$$) they could really give a fucck about royalties offa album sales

crunk music has it's place but that ain't nuthing i can listen to alot or even buy the albums

the people that buy these albums like Nelly and all these other commercial artists are 13 year old white girls and people who buy whatever the media say is hot

lmao

i hear you about that white girl thing!! but i understand where your coming from, lil john and the other "crunk" artists (not everyone from the south, im glad you cleared that up) get play on 3 major types of media enviorments so they sell crazy unit numbers!! Also i got to add that im from the Bahamas and ive yet to find one person who cant get down with "i dont give a f***". who'da thunk it!?

The DIRTY SOUTH IS IN DA HOUSE!!

I think most of us forget about the business of music and this is entertainment. So if u got a market for your product and they are willing to buy it SELL IT!!! I for one, think that some people but to many excuse on why there album dont sale and blame other artists (which they refer to as wack) for having a fan base!!!

How many time have you heard .."How in the FUCH did country talkin' gold teeth wearing @ss Master P make it?...He suck!" and then within the same breathe they say " I got to give it to him, he handled his business though"...NOT realizing they just answered there own question".....HE HANDLED HIS BUSINESS!!!

Just for the record "Everybody listen to southern music... Everyone likes to get crunk every now and then"

I'm starting to like that crunk shyte. Right now, I got a thing for "24's" by TI, and that joint by Young Bloods w/Lil Jon. Luda gives it to 'em on the remix, too.

no doubt ATL doing things. damn by youngbloodz and lil jon is the new anthem. 24's is bangin a little played cause i reside in the A. but i have noticed about the down south beats ,is that they usually do not produce the whole track. like on damn ,lil jon pays someone to play keys and someone on guitar , so hereally doing less than people think on the boards. and banners album , he has atleast one other musician on every track . i believe the only track he solely produced as like a pimp and that beat had a sample and is only like 6 tracks , super duper simple. its hella bangin though. i am making some crunkers happen , i will post the first anthem when it gets up.

Wow, ya'll know what your talking about, but do u know this? Which record label would be considered the Roc-a-fella of the south? I only really know about Def Jam South and suckafree, and thats pretty much it!?
