especially if your rap style is just a bunch of stupid cutsey words and goofy faces?
i thought she made all that crap up on the spot anyway.

I can't criticize an "off the top of the dome" freestyle. It's all spontaneous, not really fair to judge. But her written material isn't very appealing, I can say that much.

Eminem is a multi-millionaire off of his battle shit dude. You don't make it through contests like the Rap Olympics/Grind Time/Fight Klub/etc. without at least some ability to freestyle and flip topics.

I post of vid of Eminem sounding like absolute garbage off the top and the Stans make excuses.

But when Nicki is garbage off the top it's "OMG she can't freestyle" and it's thread worthy.

Just because you like or don't like an artist doesn't mean criteria on how you judge them should change.

ummmm i would dare to say that freestyling real rhymes like what em does on his albums would be a little harder to do on the spot than to mix cutesy words together like what nicki does.

There's alot of men in here putting too much energy into trying to find something negative about a female every time she makes a move. that's a bich trait to the 10th power.

That vid didn't show she can't freestyle, it showed she was working on something and when asked to spit a verse she gave a f**king preview.

As for the Em sh*t, he always lost because he showed up freestyling instead of writing some shit. He always stumbled and choked. he's not a multimillionaire of battles, he was lucky enough to give his demo to an aftermath exec after having his azz handed to him. That's not saying he wasn't decent at freestyling, but when my dudes who don';t write show up, they leave folk thinking they wrote it. So I can't say I'm but so impressed.

Em is a dope MC tho, but in all fairness, whether Nicki freestyles or not doesn't evade the point that she hung with the best of them when they were all writing on BET's hip hop honors. her performance was right up there with Em's, Budden's, and others. Not just my opinion. Crowd reaction and response afterwards supports that statement.

Songwriting and freestyle rapping are two different categories....similar to comparing a guitarist in a jam band to a guitarist in a mainstream rock band...each one is respectively good at what they do but should never be expected to ride in the other's lane. Although, if that Massive Attack song is an indicator of Minaj's songwriting....she fails at both lol
