Is open labs being auctioned because it's failing, or because there are better business opportunities elsewhere??

Open Labs isn't being auctioned off. You're talking about stuff that happened a month ago.

It was never auctioned off. Everything is fine at Open Labs.

FYI...

This is launching in OCTOBER. You WANT to be on the mailing list to get more information.

There's some good stuff coming...your complaints were heard, and you'll be getting something that you WANT at a price you can AFFORD!

:)

Brian Michael Cox said on his Ustream that Open Labs is struggling big time and is about to fold. He said its a very niche product that most people dont need coz they already have a computer.

These were his words not mine!

is this a price you can afford or a price i can afford

Well I don't know how much you can afford. But plenty of people have Fantoms, so...

IDK about the financial position of Open Labs. I know that they restructured their debt back in August, and they are cool as for right now.

And the OL product is for the Prosumer and above. It's not marketed to the same people as the $99 FL product is.

But there's some new products coming out! :bat:

Not surprised in Open Labs going belly up. There gear is a pure luxury to have... let's put a computer inside of a keyboard... smh gear heads go crazy, but theres many ways to get the same outcome way cheaper and more customized.

My confidentiality agreement says that I can't give out any information that isn't already public. So since they haven't told the public, I can't say, even though I know.

But I can say.. DON'T WORRY. :)

And I can say, I've seen the prototype, and I have the specs. And while it's not gonna please EVERYBODY (like those people who seem to think you're gonna get an Avalon pre-amp, and East West VSTi's in a production unit for $1500), it's gonna do the job WELL, at a price that you can afford.

October is TOMORROW. The launch is imminent.

General Information
The SFG-05 / SFG-01 FM-units are built around the YM2151 / YM2164 OPM chip. These IC's have 4 operators and are for example used in the cheaper Yamaha DX series (e.g. the DX-9, FB-01), several arcade games and the Korg(!) DS-8 and 707.

Hey J.Troup,

You've stated numerous times that you had to pay for your meko(?)...so what does being endorsed by open labs do for you? What do they provide you? Basically insider info? Shares of the company? Having your name be out there?

Because of the endorsement agreement that I signed, I can't say what I receive in exchange.

But what I can tell you, is that having my name attached to a company like Open Labs, and being able to point people to my profile on the site, has given me a hell of alot of credibility in the music community, both on an indie and major label.

It's like a co-sign. Alot of people fail to realize (or just refuse to accept) that the game is all about co-signs. Yeah you can be hot, and yeah someone could listen to your music and say you're hot, but if SOMEONE ELSE (that they trust) doesn't say you're hot, then you're not hot.

Yeah i know, it's fcuked up, but that's the way it is. I've actually heard that explanation come out of a very important persons mouth.

So the cosign is everything. It gives me a level of credibility not everyone else has, and gets me access to things and people not everyone can get to.

Not only that, it's the exposure. Just being up on that website, people have contacted me. In the various Open Labs events, webcasts, etc, etc, it's a hell of alot of exposure, which is great for business.

Some tangibles, but even more intangibles...which to me, in terms of my career, are equal in value.

I just hope this machine can out perform or at least go toe to toe with an OL machine. That would suck if it didn't. Just sayin lol. I'm willing to dig deep in the pockets if the specs lookin' right because I want equipment that's "upgradable" and will last
