FL Studio Mixer Problem

I have a problem when using the mixer in FL Studio.
I right click the channels I want in an individual insert

Then I add an effect in the mixer, and I realize it's also effecting a channel which I didn't add.
Does this happen to anyone else or is my software glitching?

I've done it numerous times and each time it will add a channel which I did not intend, not always the same one though.

You're probably either accidentally putting it in the master track or inadvertently sidechaining

It might help to post a picture of your setup while your song is playing...so we can see the mixer in action
