whats up fellow dj's hope your all good!
Im in the process of building my home studio and need some help and advice.
Im looking for a good firewire audio interface to record my scratching on my beats.ideally i want one thats compatible with my mac, got rca inputs for my dj mixer, mic input for vokals,2 x 1/4" jacks inputs for my akai mpc and outputs for some studio monitors if its possible? as im not to sure how studio moniters connect up etc!?

Here is a list of the equipment and software i have so far - imac 27" core 2 duo loaded with reason 4.0 & logic pro 9,akai mpc 2000,akai mpk49,technics 1200's and official technics dmc mixer, and a ****load of vinyl!

Thanks in advance!

Yeah you got it right, you need how ever many inputs and the outputs are for monitors, room ect. Keep in mind a 2 input means 2 mono or one stereo. So you can go cheap and get a 2 in / 2 out have the mixer go to the in and connect the mpc, mic and decks to the mixer and the the monitors on the output.
Or if you got more money like a 6 in / 6 out so you can track each instrument separately in your DAW. And have out puts for the monitors, controll room if you got one, and to the headphones of a vocalist.

I recomend Echo
