External Keyboard to Maschine

So I just bought myself a midi cable to go from my Roland Alpha Juno-1 to my Maschine controller to use as a external midi keyboard. Thing is, I plug it in and it doesnt do anything. I went to the MIDI settings in file and turned Maschine Vitual Input to "on". I havent a clue why it isnt working... Any help please!

I feel that it has something to do with your synth rather than your Maschine or its software settings -- some synths need to be in a specific mode in order to output MIDI data.

You probably got it working by now but u wanna turn on the physical midi in on maschine virtual is for midi clock
