I didn't know Em would go this low. Damn..

low enough to sell ringtones? Ringtones which yield millions of dollars in revenue for the artist?

yeah...damn...he's stooped to an all time low.

The ringtone business is pretty big. I'm not surprised to see the business booming since cell phone usage is still growing and even expanding into younger markets.

I was browsing around in my phone a few days back and heard some eminem voice ringtones on there. I didn't expect anything like I heard but I wasn't surprised. Makes me laugh thinking about one of them actually.

its a good source for income.

but you gotta admit that jamster completely made cell phone ringtone commericals to be untolerable.

Ha Ha... go this low...

Song download = $0.99
Ringtone download = $2.00 and up and you sell your songs and sell the ringtone...

Sir Mix-A-Lot, former one hit wonder... said he's made millions by getting in before people though it was "low" to deal with ringtones. He owns a company that just makes ringtones... it might be Jamster... that sounds like a name he would make up.

I always thought it was weird that the ringtone for a song cost more than it does to download the actual song.

^^^

That is crazy... millions for selling ringtones.

Damn, I know mutha-phuckaz who download new ones daily too.

It makes you look corny...

If I was Eminem I wouldnt want my classic records being played on a cell phone

lol. The guy makes pop music. Its not like hes Mozart here, where his music is only granted for the elite and cultured of society. His music is banging in the trunk of cars, Im sure he doesn't give a turkey if its also playing on a cell phone.

He's made some hip-hop classics, dont downplay Eminem as a pop artist.

I think cell-phone ringtones are a waste of money anyways...what kind of gratification do you get when somone calls and your phone plays all that noisy worm blippin and bleepin for a few seconds?

Eminem makes POP. All rap is pop. Its popular music. Popular music is marketted towards the same demographic whether they are selling Brittney Spears or 50 cent. You are trying to make it seem like Rap is above that or something...

haha

i just straightened out the licenses for "Don't Call Me No More" ringtone a month ago!

yall can get it from Jamster

i personally have nextel. bought the data cable. make my own ringtones in wavelab. download directly to my phone. free.

ringtones are another hustle just like selling a shyttily done documentary dvd for a new album

I guess to me rap is better than pop. I dont know why youre trying to stay so nuetral, lol

I am not the kind of person to say someone has "sold out", but I think the ringtones was the line for me.

Common, ringtones? We are talking about these cornyass commercials you see at 1230 at night on MTV, we are talking about some same level of class that the jamster "tweety bird" song ringtone is on. The same level of the "ansa ya phone playa!" ringtones. Whats next? A cameo in You-Got-Served 2?

Common. Em has money. Why does he need to do this? I'm white. Us white ppl had one great rapper with some respect, and now this. Next time I'll be hearing Em is outa some golf-course gangsta's nextel at blockbuster.

i do like goodall but i send my ringtones that i MAKE in audacity out of songs i got on itunes or other stuff. i make ringtones out of my own music from the studio as well. lol. i LOVE it!!

funny thing is that i did this one beat - made a ringtone out of it - was in the studio with a local cat - someone called me - he was like "wuts that?" - i sold a beat to ol boy merely off him hearing it as a ringtone

I dont see the problem ringtones are alright but who cares em is making money off it bottom line if I was a big time rapper I would like to hear my music ringing on someone's cell phone

How do you think D4L sustains their careers and crack habits? By selling ringtones.

I think there are far worse things that an artist can do than endorsing ringtones, but if the yielding of millions of dollars is your justification for something then surely there is no such thing as stooping to an all time low in your eyes?
