Whats best guitar simulator to use with reason?. To play realistic guitar...

do u mean using a vst instruments that simulates guitar like Slayer in Reason?

the thing is, Reason doesn't support vst instruments....

I don't know much about reason but arent there sound library's for it called refills? there must be one that features guitars

Or just samples. Your best bet is to find someone that actually plays guitar and record that (c'mon, everyone knows guitar players :))- it's probably gonna sound better that any samples anyway.

if you want guitar sounds as in refills, there are plenty free refills with guitar samples lying around the net

but if you want an instrument that simulates guitar.... *bam*

well i know steinberg has like a vitrtul guitarist or something where you put in the chords and it plays it for you, but you have to have cubase for this i think. Right now all ive got is reason 2.5 so i was wondering if theres something like virtual guitarist that could work through Re-Wire with that. Cubase sure but i cant drop teh dough on that rihgt now.

Guitars are pretty difficult to pull of convincingly without the real thing.

I use some commercial guitar sound fonts that have the sounds broken down like solo, pick, hammer, muted, harmonic etc..

Acoustic guitars are the toughest, but there is a great freeware plugin called PlugSound Free that has a great acoustic guitar sound. Listen to 'Dharmin' or 'Death I Come' on my page to hear it in action.

If you find any other good ones, please share.

sall good ill probably try some refils in the meantime while i try to look for a realistic program...

If I were you I'd step away from reason unless theyre going to offer vst support in their next version. Or use rewire (I just read about this don't know if it works)

Get the guitar cd's from sonicimplants.com (much better than hans zimmer guitars)you have to spend a little money though because the kontakt format cd's are in better quality than the other ones so you need the kontakt sampler too... and on top of that get an amp simulator. Everybody is using ik multimedia's amplitube but if I were you I would probably get the UAD-1 plugins (its a pci card so it doesn't f*ck up your cpu) the uad also comes with alot of other plugins you will love instantly.

i use guitar samples a lot in my r&b trakks. i sample a guitar being played. and chopped the hell out of it, rearrange the notes till i got a melody going. and trigger chords to be strummed on the snare. simple as that.

thanks for the advice i appreciate it.
does soundfont work with reason?
