Effects and the Rane TTM56 - HELP!

Just got a Rane TTM56 (1 x send 1 return, right channel / 1 x send 1 x return, left channel) but I'm having problems connecting effects to the loop. Can anyone advise how to connect up a standard Jim Dunlop Wah (one input, one output), or a Digitech RP1 peddle (two outputs, one input). These are just standard guitar effects (I don't know if this is the problem?) but I'm sure I've heard of other cats managing to do this (it sounds sick!). Has anyone got any ideas?

The TTM 56 has Stereo effect sends and returns. The Jim Dunlop Wah (one input, one output) peddle is mono, which means that you will only be able to affect one channel (I.E left or right) using a single 1/4" unbalanced cable on the send and on the return.

The Digitech RP1 peddle has Stereo 1/4" TRS balanced outputs ( I couldn't find a pic of the rear, so I'm not sure if its 1/4" TRS for right and 1/4" TRS for left), but you kind of run into the same problem as with the Dunlop. Only one side (Left or Right) will be affected, because the effects peddle isn't a true stereo effects processor, meaning mono in and stereo out (kinda weird, but perfect for guitars I suppose)

I think I'm gonna have to accept it and go and buy some new effects.
 
Dippa no disrespect. A wye-connector used to split a signal into two lines is being used properly, but a wye-connector used to mix two signals into one is being abused and may even damage the equipment involved....yikes.

Here is the rule: Outputs are low impedance and must only be connected to high impedance inputs -- never, never tie two outputs directly together -- never. If you do, then each output tries to drive the very low impedance of the other, forcing both outputs into current-limit and possible damage. As a minimum, severe signal loss results.
