For the Edirol Orchestral plug in, Im a bit confused. When I open the plugin up it gives like 16 different instruments that you can have assigned at once. I would like to be able to play all these sounds right off of that one plug in (as aposed to opening up another Edirol orchestral for each individual instrumet (which uses waaaay to much cpu)), becuase it seems to only let me do one instrument at a time. How do I use all those other instruments? Do i have to open up a blank channle and assign it to that plug in (haha is that even possible?) or can I run all 16 instruments in one channle as a really complicated piano roll with different octives set to different instruments? I hope this made sence.

Thank you.

You're supposed to use different MIDI channels to trigger different parts. As far as i know, the crappy FL MIDI system doesn't allow you to play the same VST with different MIDI channels (anybody know a workaround with this?).

When i switch MIDI channels on my MIDI keyboard, FL doesn't recognize that.

This is also true for SampleTank VST.
I guess they fixed this in FL Studio, but i really like FL 3.5.6 and dont wanna switch. I wish i could just switch MIDI channels in Playlist and it would switch different colors..

Soo...any idea on how I could possibly triger different parts of the vsti with fruity. ( Ihave little to no experience with midi in fruity.) So just, how would I do that?

what! The great fruity has failed me!

...

wait so would this possibly work with reason? (god DAMN I want this plug in to work)

Nah, Reason doesn't support VSTs. I guess try out Orion or Cubase, and lemme know how it works :)

it is possible with FL studio 4!!
you have to load the plugin as usually and select from the little plug-symbol in the left-upper corner of the vsti-window: ENABLE MULTIPLE OUTPUTS.
now, if you select a FX-channel for this vsti, the next following FX-channels are the channels for the following outputs of the vsti.
to play with the next output of the vsti, you have to insert a midi-out-channel in the step-sequencer for each channel you want to use and assign a different midi-channel.

(sorry 4 my bad english!! :( )

you have to set the port in the vsti and the midi-out to 1. (or whatever you want. its only important that they are the same!!)

in the midi-out channel you select the channel in the vsti with the channel LCD-thingie.

the only thing that is little bit weird, is that if you want to play with, lets say, instrument 2 in the vsti, you have to select the midi-channel. but selecting the midi-channel closes the vsti-window.
its only bad, if you want to tweak an instrument playing with a midi-keyboard. so you'll have to switch from the vsti to midi-channel everytime you want to preview the sound.

I figured it out! Thanks everone! All i did was add a fruity wrapper in channle one and loaded edirol orchetral into it. Then I set the port # to 1. When i added the midi out, All i had to do was set the port to #1 and to and set the channle to any # after 1 for each of the corresponding channles on the Vst!

Thanks!

sh**. posted it a little bit too late.
but cool that you found out by yourself ;)

Thanx, i'll try it out on my ol' 3.5.6. I hope it works :D

I KNEW it had to do with MIDI out plugin.. i wish FL had an easier way of doing it.

do you mean FX-track?
this can only be done in FL studio 4.
in FL 3 you can only use all instruments from one vsti in one FX-channel.
if you already have FL studio 4 read my post above.

FL studio really does kill every other ver of FL out there. I highly suggest switching if you're running an older ver.

Sorry, I take that back, I got confused, I thought I had to set to a different midi out, not channel.

All sorted now.

BTW, I'm getting studio soon, had the crappy arctic-full-of-bugs version but now the proper ones released, so I'll buy it.

I've got another problem. Every time I re-load my loop, the instrument setup is always resetted. Any way to overcome this really annoying and time consuming problem?
