This could be THE mixer. I can't seem to find much info on it, other than the basic specs. It's a four channel mixer with an extra mic channel (all have full eq) and an effects processor you can reprogram with a pc.

1.The build quality looks solid, if Ecler's reputation with the smac series is any indication.
2. The built in effects should appease those frustrated with Ecler's fx wet/dry system.
3. I wonder what "reprogrammable effects" means. Does that mean you can replace all the onboard effects with something entirely knew? Or build your own. I'm confused. Anybody got anymore info on this?

Yeah i am looking forward to this mixer as well. On that link scroll down to the bottom and grab the software overview PDF. It shows a few screenshots of how you can edit the effect parameters on your PC. Looks pretty nice. You can also have these as profiles on your pc from the looks of things and share the files with other users.

To be honest i really hope they have done something about the ****ty external sends because it means if you did have an external unit you wanted to use you'd run into the same problems. After the somewhat disappointing X-1500 i am still waiting for a scratchable 4 channel mixer and this looks like the one.

reprogrammable effects means you can change the effects on some software, and then send it to your mixer via usb.

Deft: why were you disappointed with the x-1500? Is it not god to scratch with?

I have sent my review off to Gizmo for him to put up on Skratchworx so it should appear in full over the next few days.
Basically i really liked a lot of the mixer but couldn't live with the delay and decay problems with the digitally controlled crossfader. Sorry to say, but if i had purchased the mixer i would have taken it back. There should be updates forthcoming but we'll have to see if it is something that is fixable via software. For people who don't scratch enough to notice it's a great mixer, but personally i'm still on the hunt for a scratchable 4 channel mixer for my Technics and DN-S5000.........

Sounds like we're in the same boat. I thought the x-1500 would be it (havent tried it yet), but maybe the nuo05 will be the way to go?

Yeah it's a pain because the Ecler hasn't got a nice matrix input or parametric eq, plus i'll be pissed off if they have the same shabby external effects loop as the Hak series. BUT it should have one of the best most adjustable faders in the business which when it comes to priorities is top of my list - and i'm willing to sacrifice other things for it.

yeah, the NUO5 will be very nice!

to clarify--

-yes, the effects are reprogrammabe thru USB. With the included edi:lab software, you can modify and adjust your effects and download em to the mixer via USB.

-I'm not 100% sure, but for external effects, it seems to be more adjustable than whats available on the HAK/SMAC series.

Judging from the pics, theres an external FX SEND button per channel (I assume thats the SEND) and theres an FX INPUT knob as well....so it seems better than just the simple "FX INSERT" knob on the HAK series.

And yes, I've played around with an X1500 recently and I wasnt too impressed with it either. The faders felt really sloppy, wich was odd considering they were P&G faders, and the mixer felt very toy-ish overall....but I havent touched the NUO5 yet so I cant really compare...

I should have one VERY soon, so I'll post a review ASAP! :)

I think the x1500 is pretty good for the price I paid for it. The delay issues probaly won't bother me because I mainly mix. The crossfader is the only P+G fader, the channel faders aren't. The nuo-5 looks nice but already have the x1500. The only downside (maybe) is that they tried to pack too many features into the x1500. Good digital mixer for the price and perfect for cd decks IMHO.
