Ecler NUO 5 Mixer V Denon DN X1500 Mixer?

Hi,

I need a new mixer and I am looking at the Denon DN X1500 Mixer and the Ecler NUO 5 Mixer.

I have a pair of DN-S5000's so obviously that’s a plus for getting the X1500.

There is a post here about the two, has anyone got anymore info or thoughts they would like to share..

Most of the information I have found in reviews has been provided by someone affiliated to one product or the other so some impartial advice would be cool.. other than that is a 500 mile+ round trip to try both..

I've written a review (with included video) of the Nuo, and Im not affiliated to either - Im gonna PM Mano now to get it published as I thought iw would have been done a couple of days a go..

Apparently the crossfader on the X-1500 is a little bit suspicious fir scratching, and that is why I went for the Nuo. But as you say, DN-S5000s benefit from Denon mixers, and when you consider the limits on H-Lines with the Nuo, I may have to suggest the X-1500 in your case.

what is your overall opinion of it anyway?
 
My overall opinioni s that its fantastic!!

My gripes with it are, as you know, the L/H-line situation. Especially as Im thinking of buying a second CD deck.
 
I'm gonna check out the schematics and see if there might be some simple mod to make them all H-line inputs....

And I'll be contactic ECLER about it..who the hell needs Lo-Line inputs?
 
Have you tried plugging a 0dBV 'Pro' unit into the low-line input?
Ideally you shouldn't, but are there any problems with distortion at the input stage?
 
To be fair they are calling it a professional audio controller, and the and the whole reprogrammable effects situation is because they are looking more past DJing. But even so, H-lines are far far more useful than L-lines.
 
They are slightly different rated input stages.
Hi-Line (Professional level) 0dBV
Lo-Line (Consumer level) -10dBV

It'd be interesting to see if there is any distortion/overdriving when using the lo-line for high level equipment. I think it'd probably be o.k...?

Was thinking that the H-Line 5 could be used for one S5000's alpha track..

Never needed to have 4 CD's running at once so shouldnt be a problem..

Well at this moment in time I think I am leaning more towards the Ecler but I am going to leave it a while to see if any flaws show up in the NUO 5. There seems to be some issues with X1500.

Bit of a pain really as I wanted a new mixer yesterday.

These are just the things that are swaying me personaly, there are other pro and cons for both mixers but they arent enough of an issue to influence my decision where as these are:
