Hey guys new to sound production industry and i am need some help with microphone techniques and placement. appreciate all the individual help :D

I'd be glad to shed the little I know.

Need to know a few things;

which drum kit are you using, how many cymbals?

which mics do you have?

what kind of style and sound are you going for?

Some people advise that you start with just the overheads, a stereo room mic position and then work in the close-mics. This can involve moving the kit around, putting up some acoustic panels, trying a lot of things with the mic stands.
