I'm trying to create a drum loop like Drake "Best I Ever Had". I tried making one with Logic drum kits, but doesn't quite have the grime or feel I'm going for. Can anyone here make one? I wouldn't mind paying you for your services ;)

...thats not even a hard drum line. but i must ask...

Why?

thats a simple pattern do u want ur drums to knock like that r do u jus want to do that same pattern and that pattern has been done alot

Obviously, anyone can program in the same "pattern". I think the most important thing is the sounds/samples and feel. My samples don't have that vinyl type sound.

Use a multiband EQ, and shape the sounds. It has to depend more on the snare than the kick. Shaping that kick is easy, cut off all frequencies below 100 Hz and then play as you go along.

Open up an instance of Ultrabeat in Logic and select the Old School Funk Remix Kit, the sounds are pretty damn similar...

Also add an 808 kick to the first beat of your pattern under the kick.....what's funny is that almost every song on So Far Gone has some derivative of that beat with the snare that accompanies the offbeat 8th

I'm not sure if you're just after the drums, or perhaps the melody as well - but just in case you're after the latter, why not just sample the original song 'Fallin in Love - Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds'?

If it's not what you're after just ignore this reply rather than flame @ me.

Peace,

What do you mean the offbeat 8th? 8th step? xxxx-xxx8-xxxx-xxx16

Like that in a bar? Everytime I add an 808 kick that's kinda long it always cuts out all my other lows. How do I go about making it so it doesn't butcher my ****.

Feeling nice....82 Beats per minute

This sounds like the drums from "Successful."

I actually was thinking that the drums on "Best I Ever Had," well at least the snare, was sampled from the Roots' song "Rollin' With Heat" from off the "Phrenology" LP. Just my ear though.

Nevermind figured out what you meant.
