Can you tell me how Dre got the clav sound in this song? I'm curious. It's a clav sample? It's interesting. The patch seems to be responding to his dynamics with changes in filter cutoff somehow... and there's something unusual about the attack. I'm intrigued by it. Can anyone tell me? Thank you in advance for any replies.

I think it might be a guitar actually. I have the one shot sample in my samples somewhere. But yeah that's a tight ass Dre beat.

Is it clav with low pass filter and good eq? It's definitely filtered... that might explain the tone, but there's something about the way it bumps along that almost does sound like it is strummed to me. I mean, it sounds like something you can't achieve with just the "down strokes" that we have as keyboard players. It sounds like up, down, up, down, up, down, down, up. That looks silly, but it sounds something like that. I don't know if he could achieve this on a keyboard. Could he? Thanks again to all.

The sample used for that patch/track? How do you know that's the one? Thanks.

I have the one shot because I cut and pasted it from the song.

I also have a patch for it too.
