made famous by the late Roger Troutman, from ZAPP
Mc Magic was given his talkbox from the Troutman family

Go to the 411, and click on Magic
. . . He is also the one that plays the Talk Box. He received the talk box as a gift from The Troutman family. . .
Troutman did the talk box on California Love and was in the video (with the tube)

Chris Tucker introducing "Monster", whose character "Can You Dig It" comes straight out of The Warriors.

Only 3 degrees of Kevin Bacon
I've been doing a lot of research on this topic, ya think
I'm originally a guitarist. Frampton and Joe Walsh are the kings of Guitar Talk Box with
Richie Sambora (Livin on a Prayer), and others after that.
To be honest, I think Troutman is a trend setter. Originator, true genius. He used a SYNTH instead of a guitar.
MC Magic's song is a tribute to Zapp.
No one has eclipsed Roger.
I just bought a Danelectro Free Speech yesterday and I was playing with it last night for the first time with my tele copy. After about 20 mins, I was able to get a good "Don't Worry About Me" (an idea for a new song)
I haven't tried a synth yet but I have
a TX81Z and that is next
The Mad Max thing in Dre's video is another tree . . .
