Do Sound Modules Sequence?

I'm new to sound modules. I've been using my DAW to produce music and the latency if destroying my creative workflow. So, now I'm thinking about moving back to keyboard workstations.

Anybody know if sound modules sequence? Will I be able to produce a beat with a sound module and a midi controller?
 
Usually not. The few that do are (the ASR-10 rack & the E-MU Command Stations come to mind) an exception to the rule.
 
With DAWs or hardware sequencers. MPCs are pretty popular for this, the MV8800, Yamahas RS7000...of course there are many simpler options as well.
