DJing for an MC

I'm gonna be DJing for an MC for the first time in a couple of weeks. I can't scratch for shit so at the moment I'm just mixing from one instrumental to the next, which seems kinda boring. what do you guys do when you're djing for an MC?

Depends on what the MC asks for? Either way you are there to back him up and add flavor here and there. Just don't be that DJ that goes so overboard they mess up the MC's performance. LoL. I've seen this happen a couple times.
