i dnot really have space for a shelving unit besides i like having the crates in the closet.

Im afraid of an earth quake lol. We have small ones all the time. I think I am going to organize them by Genre and usefulness.

im running out of crates and containers for the ones im looking through....ive been keeping pretty much everything before 1980....and then anything that catches my eye too...right now i have them seperated into the more well known albums those are the ones i take pictures of...and then the bigger group of just pre 1980s albums that ill eventually look through for sampling...then i have a real small group of ones i run across that just by looking at i can tell i reaaally want to listen through for samples

80s records are cool too just not for drums. I tend to use 80s records for chopping up cool melodies and stuff. Gotta keep the drums from the 70s though

ya know i dont like 80s melodies that much at all lol...especially the faster upbeat dance music, i like going more for the live instrument samples i get from the 70s and before.....i still keep some 80s music but i just dont keep eeeeverything....i found a rick astley never gonna give you up single...i kept that just because lol

depending on what you find there are some really cool sounds out there. I really like the r&b 80s ballads. Karyn White, Debarge, some of Stevie Wonders 80s stuff, Rick James has some joints. 80s rock is also cool if u can find real instruments in it. Genesis has some great stuff.

Man, great thread~ these digs all look so nice! Esp. Ronnie Creed's on the first page. All those covers look sick.

Been enjoying this thread for a while. Just getting back into digging after a little break since I got a tt again. Been doing it as long as I remember though - long before I heard the term. But all my records from high school dissapeared somewhere.

Here's a pic of some recent digs from thrift stores.
Heard a Mf doom sample on that quincy jones, I know a bunch of others have sampled it to. Cool beasty boys flute sample on that seatrain. That gary wright has that dreamweeaver song from Wayne's world - it's surprisingly funky in a nasty 80's way.

Good luck in your digs:sing:!

michael manring

Middle left is a michael manring - he's this crazy bass player who uses all these alternate tunings. This one's kinda new agey.

bought 4 alan parson project albums few minutes ago. and some donna summer album. propably not gonna flip anything out of it tho.

Checked out a new spot this morning. It was pretty weak, copped these joints though..

Gilson - you must have an amazing collection. So many sick records in your pics. I love that Al green album.

That Al Green is ill I have been looking for a copy of it in worth while condition. I had a copy that was sold. But it has that break for Biggie's Dead Wrong on it I also used a track on there for a mixtape track I recently placed.

I hit half priced books today for some new digs. Im mad that they totally rearranged the store and re did everything I can't find any records in that mass mess they got now. I may have to start digging else where. Oh well I found a couple good records.

Cool. I like that Stevie Wonder album. The Ohio Players looks nice too.

the ohio players joint is the only one ive listened to. ive found 1 joint that spoke to me for samples but I have been looking for drums lately. And the chick on the inside cover kinda sucks compared to the other chicks they usually have.
