^^^Yet nobody posts a Lil Wayne song that amazes me to a point that I change my mind.........O.K. If Lil Wayne wasn't consider one of the greatest and just a good artist, that's where I would stand and probably hear stuff like "yeah that song is good" or "I don't like that song" but damn......Lil Wayne is like "One of the Greatest......so I gots to make show there is one human being on this Earth that doesn't not agree with that until proven otherwise. I understand yall youngbucks get fascinated easily, though.

So again..........post me a Lil Wayne song that will fascinate me. I won't disagree just cause....don't hate him like that.....but don't post me no drunken master Wayne shit like it's great, either. "I'm so hi, I can lick the Milky Way" lyrics and shit.

Modus > Lil Wayne foreal.

listen to drought 3 mixtape, he kills every song

Do I have to listen to the whole thing? Is all of it like this?

No thanks!

Took a second listen. Good lyrics, terrible, terrible delivery. Voice kills it for me, too. IMO. Not saying he's wack....I'M NOT FASCINATED....not my taste.

^^^I understood what he said, didn't fascinate me. The goon to a goblin line, either. Punchlines don't do it for me. I don't hate Wayne, I think he's overrated highly, though. Eazy wasn't saying shit like that because he was talking to the people. Not bragging on himself, not saying just anything as long as it rhyme and make some sense somewhere deep down, but conversating to the listener as a sane man in rhyme form.

While people claim he is the greatest or one of the greatest, I can name plenty of rappers I feel better than him that wouldn't be considered. Like...

This Kurupt and Lil Wayne at his best one on one in a ring......Kurupt will eat his ass alive.

I most def agree w/ you about the Goon/goblin line (I hate how people go crazy over it, including my bro), and I also agree that Wayne is overrated and rarely ever raps on a particular subject, but I don't think he's as terrible as people say either. It seems like wayne just isn't at all your taste in music, and there aint no problem in that

Wayne is capable of doing more than just punchlines tho, he can even tell stories too.

I know you weren't feeling the track on the credits at all tho, and your reasons why are totally understandable.

I'm not saying you can't like him or even saying anything about you personally, I'm just saying I think some of the dislike he gets is exaggerated and even unfair at times

. And I again agree w/ you about his random ass punchlines, but if a dude in the 80s or 90s said "The spot gets smaller and I get bigger, tryin to get in where I fit in, no room for a nigga", I'm willing to bet that dudes back in the day would quote the sh!t outta that. I think a lot of his dislike comes from the context in which he uses his lines. Basically because of how he raps, his lines get watered down. Like his ish is being overcompressed, there are no peaks and valleys line to line or song to song.

I'm not dickriding wayne or nothin, He used to be my favorite rapper a few years back, but now he gets on my nerves a lil.

Dope. Cool for one listen. Can bare it with someone else playing.....give them that look when they start getting all "He's the greatest" though.

He went a little on this. Not fascinated, though.

You tell me?

and what stacks u talkin bout with modus???

Just saying I think (I think..I'm nobody) he should just be one voice. I tell alot of rappers that. Some need stacks, some don't. IMO. Some songs call for stacks, though.

i like wayne, but a lot of white teenage kids (im not racist or anything) put this nigga so high up like hes a god or sumthin...
sum of his songs are nice sum aint
it seems to me like he's undderrated by sum ppl and overrated by the rest

i like punch lines personally. I like some deep lyrics but i HATE when rappers try to make sentimental songs. Leave that shit for the singers (just my opinion)

I'm used to going crazy for a song. Listen to songs for life. I can't get into Wayne after growing up listening and loving.....

I can go on and on.

Deep shit

This is two albums back, but I still listen to this album.....this my taste. Deep shit.

That's my taste when it comes to spittin.

Tell yall something.....people getting fascinated with bars with corny punchlines and shit is the same as watchin a scene in a movie that's not really funny and you being the only person in the room like "rewind that back...that was funny...hee..hee". That's how I feel about punchlines. Thay are cool, but shouldn't make the verse.

Yea, lyrically all them dudes posted above will chew Wayne, I don't think Eazy could though.

I hear you, when you grow up listening to a certain sound and sh!t changes, you just can't get in to the new sh!t thats out. I'm only 19 n I'm talkin like I'm a vet or sumthin, but after punchline rapping became the thing to do and Wayne and the rest of the rap world jumped on autotune, I just haven't felt the same way about nearly any music.

I feel the same way, thats why wayne stopped being my favorite, When I first heard him punchlining, I thought it was dope and clever as sh!t, but one song after another with no subject, just random punchline after random punchline...It got mad tiring. And now he doesn't even make sure that his punchlines make sense. Had me like "damn son."

Lol real shit I thought I was the only one that noticed this where I'm from not just white kids either people treat Wayne like a a GOD which can be a annoying as shit everyday in school you see a kid walking down the hall wit a new lil Wayne line and I remember I said jay z is better

then wayne and I almost started a riot Lol but that's what makes Wayne great in my book is his ability to reach masses you can love him or hate him/say he sucks/say his punchlines are corny but wayne still built
occult fanbase just off more then 100 features 50 mixtapes and only 9 albums but over at least a thousand songs in under 5 years

Now let me see some of these people who say lil wayne sucks do that right now

Clock starts now

That song made me give Nas props again...

most don't stack up to G Rap type flow.

Ahhh FP man. Go on *popcorn*

Wayne is type dope though. Damn, some dudes 4got it's 2010 and life goes on... I love the old school gritty North style too, but I don't think that Wu Tang sound is coming back to Hip Hop anytime soon...

More in-depth honesty... I felt similar to alotta yall up until this year, and I started realizing what the fans are eating up, it changes and gets different every year... that old school lyrical vibe is good money, we all know that, but it doesn't even attract fans nowadays...

Not to turn this into another selling out thread though, just trying to shed some light... I used to think Wayne was complete garbage too... then I started actually listening to him spit... whether we like him or not, dude is gonna attract fans with that flow... he knows what he's doing...

Jay did the same thing, switched up on em... Eminem... hell most o the guys that stay afloat...

Just because certain mainstream groups are behind the times in liking Wayne doesn't take away from the exciting music he was making 3-5 years ago.

He lost his mysterious aura because he became too saturated but even now his focused bars are better than his pre-jail songs.

He could come back hard but probably won't. He won't go away but I doubt he will excite hip hop heads again the way all music is evolving now. It could happen but I doubt it. It would take years of mediocrity for him to fall off in general.

Neither, I prefer gangsta rap/storytelling. Not a fan of rappers trying to be poets with all that deep ****, or rappers that think they are comedians either.

Not to mention Baby never gonna let him fall off. Not to mention Young Money AND Cash Money success...... people be sleeping on the game, dudes out there are NOT playing and could care less if you think they suck...
