It's time to switch things up again. Returning to the harder Progressive sound, these nine tracks I present to you are nothing short of brutal and nasty. Some can even perhaps be described as hauntingly beautiful. This guest mix was recorded for Tony Estrada's show Babylon on FriskyRadio.com, and was aired on May 17 2006. Frisky was recently nominated for Best Internet Dance Radio Station at WMC 2006, congrats guys!

The set starts off with the hair-raising Fuzzy Hair Remix of Junkie XL's Today, the first single off his brand new album. Up next is the dancefloor-mangling Satoshi Tomiie 3D Dub of Lover by Chab. The mix rounds out with two of my favorite productions in recent months, SQAP by Sean Quinn & Andy Page, and the Luke Chable Remix of Union Jack's classic Two Full Moons And A Trout. Other highlights include the relatively obscure track Ikimasu by Section 9 and the Gene Carbonnell Remix of Mara's track from 1999.

01 Alexander Church - Cycles Of Life (Original Mix) - [ Source Of Gravity ]
02 Rob Curtis - Eclectic (Original Mix) - [ Existence ]
03 Jose Zamora & Damian DP feat. Paleday - Transatlantic (Original Vocal Mix) - [ Baroque ]
04 Clubbervision - The Lost Dream (Darioef Remix) - [ Sentient Audio Collective ]
05 DT8 Project feat. Andrea Britton - Winter (Max Graham's Sidechain Remix) - [ Ministry Of Sound ]
06 Jay Lumen - Perpetual Drifting (Original Mix) - [ Pangea UK ]
07 Conjure One feat. Tiff Lacey - Face The Music (Redanka Remix) - [ Nettwerk ]
08 16 Bit Lolitas - Sedna (Original Mix) - [ Shinichi ]
09 Storyteller - In Between (Original Mix) - [ Enhanced ]
10 Storyteller - Polar White (Emersia Mix) - [ Toes In The Sand ]
11 BPT feat. DM Binxter - Moody (Futureshock Remix) - [ Kult ]

This is the last set that I put together for a while, as I put DJing in the backseat and focus on production for the next few months. Here is a mix of old classics and future anthems. The music gives off a very summery vibe with its use of lush melodies and warm pads.

Starting with Cycles Of Life by producer Alexander Church, we move onto a recent favorite of mine, Eclectic by Rob Curtis. The set really shifts into high gear with the Max Graham Remix of DT8 Project's Winter off Ministry of Sound. Other highlights include the Redanka Remix of the latest Conjure One single and 16 Bit Lolitas' smash-hit Sedna, which has been hammered by DJ's all over the globe. The energy winds down with the forever awesome Futureshock Remix of Moody, ending the last 10 minutes of the set on a high note.

This concert will be broadcast live on FriskyRadio.com!!

About Matt Rowan

Matt Rowan's DJ career spans two decades of house music and continues to grow and evolve today. Having commenced his first residency back in 1998, Matt has gone on to become a regular at many a Sydney nightclub and event. A style thats been described as bass-driven House Music, Matts sets incorporate a strong rhythmic and techy feel whilst remaining light hearted and funky. This dancefloor oriented approach to set structure and programming, combined with deft skills, has seen Matt become resident at Sounds on Sunday and Sydneys premier progressive night SweetChilli.

Alongside production buddy Jaytech, Matt's release Tomorrow/Blaze was described by Nick Warren as the tune of 2005 and was championed by Warren as well as Hernan Cattaneo around the globe. Signed to Hope Recordings, Tomorrow was also featured on Dave Seaman's Renaissance compilation Master Series 3. 2007 will see more original productions from the duo, as well as releases on Fiberline and Hope Recordings. Catch Matt in the mix on internet radio stations Pulse, Proton, Frisky and Indiesoundz. With an ear for a good tune and the skills to match, Matt gets any dance floor moving.

About the PERSPECTIVES show

per·spec·tive (pr-spktv)
n.
A mental view or outlook.
Subjective evaluation of relative significance; a point of view.

For the past few years, electronic dance music and culture has been spreading rapidly across the globe. The world contains more DJ's and producers than ever before, but even with the growing number of electronic musicians these days, no two sets can ever be exactly alike. There are an infinite number of ways DJ's can approach the same music.

Perspectives is a show that celebrates diversity, diversity in musical styles and nationalities. The guests featured on this show come from all over the world, including eastern Europe, southern Asia, Australia, and the United States. They each come different lives and different backgrounds.
