Hey,

I saw a previous question about dancehall claps, and I was wondering if anyone knew which kicks were used in the songs:

sean paul - get busy
lumidee- I'll never leave you
wayne wonder- no letting go

I heard someone do a dancehall beat before and I've tried myself, but i noticed that they used the same exact kick as in these songs, which can go a long way into sounding more authentic (in my opinion).

Can anyone help me out with this? Thank you!:victory:

yo i can help on this. for best results you should of gone to the dancehall section. but anyway i;ll do my best to explain.

check out www.thugangel.co.uk/dancehall.zip for answers to any further questions.

most dancehall kicks are combos of bass notes and a simple kick drum. you can sample these of any existing song no matter what style. as long as it has plenty of bass.if not just add some sub bass. i know for sure that you must have some cds so just search them for tunes that start with kicks with no other melodies. sample and trim it. if it needs some bass use a sub bass. now if you dont know what this is then you probably dont have a synth. so ask the nice guys on the synthesis part of this site if they can synthesise u a short decaying sub bass. or just drop me your email and i;ll send u some dancehall samples.

see dancehall is just techno reggae. songs can be knock out more quicker and much more proffesionally sounding than ever before.

so just mix and kick drum with a decaying sub bass. try adding filter, resonance, eq and change pitch. till it sounds nothing like the original. the bonus is once you have made one dancehall kick you neednt ever use anynother again

hey
