Cubase 5 wav Sample issue

Custom sample .wav files sound time stretched after import onto time-line, any ideas?

Note: The samples sounds normal in Media Bay previewer, Quicktime player and anywhere else tested.
*I don't get this issue if it's a mp3 file
*Same Result if 16, 24 or 32bit wav
*It sounds time-stretched no mater if its imported from Media bay or dragged in from a windows prompt.
*The issue sounds the same if tempo changed to the original sample export
*The time-stretch is there after export

  • What's your project sample rate?
  • What's the sample sample rate?
    • If they're the same, Then
      • What's the project tempo?
      • What's the sample tempo?
        • If they're the same then I'll do some thinking.
        • If they're not, then that's the problem.
    • If they're not, then that's the problem.
