Critique the mix I did on this song

recorded with usb mic over two track instrumental

I mixed it with audacity.
 
Your two track was a low encoding of an mp3 - or has gone through multiple stages of conversion.

Also, you are too close to the mic while you are tracking.
 
thanx, i hate the mic i have now im getting a new one and a preamp in a month so i prob wont record until than but ill use your advice then.

If you had it all over what order would you do, buy, learn things, im thinking 3. 1. 2. in that order but ive already sunk a good chunk of money in

*edit* and other than the DAW my audio recording book has been my most used piece of gear. Egh my DAW sucks lol
