If i want to play in a club do i have to pay for the music i play or can i just download it?

From what I've heard from DJ friends of mine the club pays the fees.

Pretty sure you dont pay for what tracks you put on.

The venue should pay ASCAP/BMI fees. You are responsible for legally obtaining your music (buying CDs or legal download files). Two different things.
