DY ! - i suggest going to http://www.synthzone.com . Check it out they have some pretty funky midi contollers ! 
do you play piano really well? If so, get a STUDIOLOGIC SL-990 or 880. They are nice and feel almost like a real piano.
You don't play piano well, you just want to control your software synthesizers (or other MIDI devices) easily and for cheap? Get ANY US$ 100 keyboard controller. As long as it doesnt have the "mini keys" you will be fine.
