Its funny how something positive always turns into a pissing contest on FP...

Haha, the only pissing contest is between someone who knows what they're talking about (dvyce), and people who don't.

Everytime someone posts a question on this forum about a contract someone wants them to sign, half a dozen people always reply to "get a lawyer."

Apparently that's only lip service when LOLZ i got FREE CONTRACTS on the INTERNET!!1!

What is funny is how people say they want advice and information that will help them, but get angry when they get an answer that is anything different from what they want to hear.

dvyce got that oracle wisdom

hell how much do your services cost n where are U located?

(i'm bein serious... dudes need that paperwork, incorporating advice, n i heard the lawyer title dropped...)

Do I need to have my music copyright? and a company to sell or use these contracts?

He's asking does he:
a) need a company to sell his beats
b) do his beats need to be copyrighted in order for him to sell them

THANX ALOT Bknot and every one else for all these posts and sample contracts. The one's I had before this forum were terrible waiting to be torn apart by the more knowledgable. I got a lot of content today. Now I just gotta try to figure exactly what all of it means.

I got a lot of content today. Now I just gotta try to figure exactly what all of it means. Me and my partner HotShot make instrumentals that make you feel like the floor fell from under you no joke they're Incredibly different but still likeable by the general populous, you won't beleive if I tell you it's not sampled. We'll probably soon be doing movie scores we're a little to creative for rap. **************TheNoblesMusic.com*************
to be changed to TheNoblesGuild.com within 2 weeks.

1. Why would you even bother to put a link to your "TheNoblesMusic" website when it is just an empty template for a website? You would be better off with no link at all.

2. If "you have to figure out what all of it means", how do you know that these new contracts are good (I don't think they are) and that your old contracts are bad (they probably are)? Why do you, like so many other people in this thread, decide to ignore real and good information letting you know that you will be screwing yourself by using any contract from the internet? Read the thread (well, particularly what I said in the thread) and be informed.

...but, hey, it's *your* life... do what you will.

Gz dude dont b a joy kill. But lol ur right. Anyways the site was supposed to up today then I had a long talk with someone. But hinestly thanx a lot for looking us up. Ill c if i can edit that thread. Im new to this forum. Like I said, I'm going to read the contract over myslef. Just because I havent taken the chance to understand it yet doesnt mean I should take note of it. Im going to edit it myself later. I wouldnt just use it straight off the page as if ready for signing.

So I'm a producer and all I do is make beats, which one of these will I need for my soundclick? I also need a lease agreement and exclusive rights agreement for the beats I will be leasing and selling as well and I will need to know what to fill the blanks in with on all of these because I have no clue, lol! If anyone can help, that would be great!

I have about 113 different customizable (word docs) contracts. I don't mind giving them away to whoever wants them... Just send me an email to BreakthroughBeats@gmail, put contracts in the subject box and I'll make sure you get them. Questions? Hit me up

Just thefactthat youhave 113 different contracts shows that there us a lot if subtlty with contracts...

You are not a lawyer.

You do not understand what these contracts say (even though you *think* you do)...

"legal wording" often means things quite different from what it appears to say...

The meanings of contracts often come downtown *past precedent*, so you need to understand mite that simply the words...

Anybody using a contract they found on the Internet or in a book is setting themselves up for getting seriously screwed.

If you want to protect yourself legally, throw these contracts in the garbage and just write *in plain English* what you want youragreement to be.

--something to think about: you have a "producer" and an "artist" both here looking for someone to give them an "artist/producer" contract... Someone here says "I have an artist/producer contract"... The "artist" and "producer" both download the contract and say "thanks for lookin out! This is exactly what I have been looking for!"...

BUT!!!!

Of course, neither the "artist", "producer" nor the guy giving the contract understands what he is reading.

SO...

Tell me: is this contract screwing the "artist" or the "producer"? (because contracts ALWAYS favor one party)

Who is getting (more) screwed?

Hmmmm?
