Hello all! Ok, my scenario is that a band has agreed to let me use a song in a film that I'm working on. We've got the contract part all figured out and everyone is happy and protected. I live in Missouri and they live in North Carolina. How do we sign it and make it all official from a distance?

Thanks a bunch :)

Thanks bknot :)

Do you have to have a notary or something to make it official or are just the signatures good enough?

This thread should be stickied, it would stop all the questions on contracts. It gets bumped like every 3 weeks lol.

Contract scenario-

I have a friend that I'm going to be doing a few beats for so he can use them on a demo. He's giving the demo to a family friend named Melvin Brown, who is Akon's manager (one of them, at least). He also has the Konvict Records label. I want to make sure that if my friend is signed and puts the songs I did for him out on a major label, that I'll be reimbursed for them. Would this be a non-exclusive, demo, exclusive contract, what?
